The York Accolade Project involved the construction of two buildings that would be used as a major expansion of York University’s Keele campus. The west building houses lecture halls and two lecture theatres, while the east building has lecture halls, music/dance studios, classrooms/offices and a 325-seat recital hall and theatre.
The 360-seat theatre includes wings, side stage and backstage space, plus an orchestra pit, fly system and traps; a 327-seat recital hall; a 500-seat cinema equipped with a 40-foot screen; two art galleries; and dozens of cutting-edge studios, labs and classrooms. The project was delivered using design-build process.
LEA engineers Greg Andrews and John Ford provided Structural Consulting Engineering Services on this project while employed at a previous firm.
