The Canada-India Business Council (C-IBC) is a leading not-for-profit business organization linking Canadian and Indian businesses. The council works closely with global corporations in Canada and India, as well as smaller and medium-sized businesses to help facilitate relationships, share knowledge, and strengthen economic ties between the countries.

The Thomas Bata Award statue. This year, at their 16th annual Diwali Gala, the C-IBC recognized the LEA Group with the Thomas Bata Award. This award, named after a legendary Canadian business leader and early champion of closer economic relations with India, is given to a company that demonstrates outstanding leadership consistent with Thomas Bata’s vision. The award was presented by Christina Kakaflikas, City of Markham; Vikas Swarup, High Commissioner of India; John Tory, Mayor of Toronto; and Patricia Korval, Chair C-IBC. John Farrow, President, LEA International, attended the Diwali celebration and accepted the award on behalf of the LEA Group.

LEA would like to thank the C-IBC for recognizing us with this award. We are extremely proud of our past and present work in both Canada and India, and look forward to continuing our relationship with the C-IBC – mentoring and assisting businesses entering the Indian market.
