LEA was a member of the IPD team that worked on this landmark project located on the shores of Little Lake in Peterborough, Ontario. LEA provided Structural Engineering services for the new Canadian Canoe Museum, constructed of a hybrid system of structural steel and Mass Timber. The museum, a 2-storey, 65,000 ft² class A museum space, is dedicated to showcasing the rich history of canoes. It also proudly houses a collection of over 600 canoes, each securely stored on high bay racking systems. The exhibition floor showcases select canoes and other collections, allowing visitors to admire these vessels up close.
The Canadian Canoe Museum officially opened its doors to visitors in May 2024.
