In partnership with Metrolinx and York Region, the City of Toronto engaged LEA Consulting Ltd. to lead the Steeles Avenue East Bridge Environmental Assessment Study.
The study will focus on developing creative solutions for separating the existing level rail crossing of Steeles Avenue East at the Stouffville GO railway and widening of Steeles Avenue between Kennedy Road and Midland Avenue.
The successful completion of this project will be a keystone in the development and enhancement of the area’s streetscape and integration with the Milliken GO Station. The separation of the existing level rail crossing will result in improvements to traffic congestion, provide opportunities to enhance pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, and will support on-going regional transit expansion.
LEA is currently developing and evaluating alternative designs for the grade separation. For more details and information on the project and public meetings, visit the project website: www.toronto.ca/steelesbridge
